History of PLUMB
PLUMB was founded by Fayette R. Plumb in 1887.  Throughout the 1900's, PLUMB had a strong reputation as one of the best axe and hammer brands. With their iconic red handles and tried & true innovations like PERMABOND, the Take-Up Wedge and their iconic red handles, PLUMB axes gained a reputation for quality tools.
 
The iconic PLUMB red was created to be reminiscent of the color of plum fruit.  This helped PLUMB axes and other tools to stand out from the crowd.  PLUMB was famous for it's red handles, but also for it's PERMABOND handle attachments.  PERMABOND wasn't just a clever marketing tag line, the product created a stong hold between axe head and handle that the company guarateed not to fail.
 
ABOUT OUR BONDING AGENT
We have painstakingly reproduced our PLUMB PERMABOND to be an exact match of the original PERMABOND used on PLUMB tools from 1955 until 1971.  Our reproduction of PERMABOND has almost identical strength and color as the original.
 
This 2oz's of PERMABOND comes in a two part mix that is separated into two jars, one 1oz jar and one 2oz jar for easy mixing.  For large jobs, pour the entire 1oz jar into the 2oz jar and mix.  For smaller jobs, add an equal amount of both parts into an alternate mixing container.
