A:

Vintage Axe Oil has only 1 ingredient: Heat boiled natural flax seed oil.
  • What are the ingredients in Vintage Axe Wax?

  • If Vintage Axe Wax is flax seed oil, can I drink it?"
No. Although Vintage Axe Wax is 100% all natural flax seed oil, it is not considered drinkable. This is due to handling and packaging procedures. Food product procedures are more stringent and costly than a product designed to be a wood preservative. Because we don't make our oil for drinking, we are able to lower the consumer price by using more efficient packaging methods.

Yes, Vintage Axe Oil is 100% all natural flax seed oil that has been boiled in a stainless boiler system.

  • What is polymerization?
Polymerization is a chemical reaction in which two or more molecules combine to form larger molecules. In simple terms, with regard to linseed oil, the oil turns from a liquid into a solid, similar to a clear hard plastic. Linseed oil polymerization starts to occur when the oil is exposed to air. With raw linseed oil, this reaction takes a long time to occur, usually 3-4 weeks or more depending on temperature and humidity. Chemical based linseed oil usually takes 24-48 hours. Natural Vintage Axe Oil takes only 8-18 hours and provides a superior polymerization.
  • Why has the outside of my Axe Wax bar hardened?
This is normal to see after a few months of non-use. It is part of the polyermization process of the Vintage Axe Oil that is used in our Vintage Axe Wax recipe. Simply start rubbing the Axe Wax onto your surface and the thin layer of polymerization will be worn away and expose the soft wax below.

  • How should I wash Vintage printed garments?
Machine wash cold, inside-out, gentle cycle with mild detergent and similar colors. Use non-chlorine bleach, only when necessary. No fabric softeners. Tumble dry low, or hang-dry for longest life. Cool iron inside-out if necessary. Do not iron over the print. Do not dry clean. Be wary of washing and drying on a high setting, especially when the garment is 100% cotton. High-temperature washes can fade and crack the print, and a high-temperature dryer settings can shrink the garment, as well as damage the print. We use the latest direct-to-garment (DTG) printing technology to offer a wide variety of printable garments and design color options. The DTG ink in this process is different from the ink screen printers use. Keep in mind that the original manufacturer's care instructions don't take into consideration the DTG printing process.

  • What is ring-spun cotton?
Ring-spun cotton t-shirts are softer, more durable and last longer than their regular cotton counterparts, but cost more to manufacture. They cost more because processes for creating regular cotton and ring-spun cotton are totally different. Regular cotton is made from vegetable fibers that are twisted together to make yarn, which is then woven to make material and less expensive to make. Ring-spun cotton, on the other hand, is completely different. Ring-spun yarn is made by twisting and thinning the cotton strands to make a very fine, strong, soft rope of cotton fibers.
