ABOUT OUR COMPANY

Vintage Tool Co is based in the U.S. and everything we produce is made in America*.  We're dedicated to creating superior products and having the best service in the business.  We believe the best business strategy is a satisfied customer.

We go by the notion; "they don't make em' like they used to", and we use that as our motivation to break the mold.  We practice old school values, techniques, and dedication to our craft.  We believe in preserving the past, which is exactly what our products are designed to do.  We're passionate about history, especially American history, and we do our part to fill gaps and be historians of our own craft.

Vintage Tool Co donates to local charities and supports both individuals and organizations that we see doing great things.  In fact, nothing delights us more than being able to contribute to someone's path, their vision and ultimately, their greatness.  In choosing Vintage Tool Co products, you're getting more than just a superior product, you're investing in an even greater future.

ABOUT OUR PRESERVATION PRODUCTS

Linseed oil is the industrial name for flax seed oil and is one of the best natural wood preservatives.   But did you know that boiled linseed oil is not actually boiled?  All "boiled" linseed oil you see on the shelf today at any hardware or big box store in the United States is treated with toxic metallic chemical dryers and additives like beryllium, chromium, cadmium, nickel, japan dryer, turpentine, cobalt, lead, manganese, zinc, zirconium, bismuth, lithium, aluminum and barium to name a few.

These examples of metallic dryers are used to accelerate the drying of paints, inks and coatings (linseed) by catalyzing the oxidation of drying oils.  These chemicals simulate the effect you would get by just boiling flax oil.  Then why isn't it actually boiled?  Profit.  It takes more time and energy to heat and cool a large amount of oil, when instead it can be chemically treated in just minutes.  Raw linseed oil can take 3-6 weeks to fully polymerize.  Chemically treated linseed oil usually takes 24-48 hours.  Our naturally boiled linseed oil fully polymerizes in just 8-18 hours depending on temperature and humidity!

Why should you care about chemicals?  If you're using off the shelf "boiled" linseed oil for any wood preservation project, it is inevitable that some of the oil will transfer to your skin.  Anything that touches your skin also absorbs into your bloodstream rather easily and almost immediately.  Out of the need for a pure, organically safe option, Vintage Tool Co and our natural products were born.

Vintage Brands offers the highest quality, 100% natural, non-toxic products on the market today.  All of our products contain nothing except for natural flax oil and bees wax.  Why wonder what's in other preservation products when you know exactly what's in ours?

*All of our final production is done in America, however, some of our textile products have wool and cotton that is cultivated in other countries.
