FULTON TOOLS (Sears) - "Fulton Clipper" vintage axe shirt

There is some debate as to the true origins of the iconic Fulton Clipper axe.  However, it is well known that these axes had their own dedicated page in many of the early 1900's Sears Catalogs and were marketed as premium quality.
 
History of this design:
 
The Kelly Axe Mfg. Co. is thought to have possibly forged these axes before Sears built their own axe forge.  Sears "Fulton Tool" forge in Chicago was where they created their own tools and axes from about 1905 until 1927 when they adopted the "Craftsman" name.
 
Kelly Axe Mfg. Co. was only one of a handful of axe makers that was set up to do the type of elaborate acid etching on this axe.  It is likely that even if Kelly didn't forge this axe, then it was possible that Kelly was contracted to do the etching.
