Emerson & Stevens - Cock of the Woods
Emerson & Stevens started up in 1870 and continued making axes in Oakland Maine until 1965. In the highly competitive turn of the century market of over 400 axe makers, Emerson & Stevens used catchy names, beautiful artwork and forged high quality, handmade axes to stand out above the crowd.
E&S became known for creating some of the most visually stunning and iconic axe labels ever produced. Many E&S axes had no head stamp, and most that were stamped only said "E&S" or "Emerson & Stevens". Instead, they used colorful labels with names like "Choppers Choice", "Lumberman's Pride", "The Pioneer" and "Cock of the Woods" that stirred excitement and gave beauty and persona to the axe.
This shirt celebrates the artwork of Emerson & Stevens for their "Cock of the Woods" axe. You get a high quality, exact reproduction of the actual axe label that was attached to the Cock of the Woods axes. The back of the shirt has a small E&S logo high in the middle back.
