Belnap Bluegrass - Clover Logo
William Burke Belknap founded his hardware company in 1840, along the banks of the Ohio River in Louisville, Kentucky. It started as a small shop that produced iron products, like horse and mule shoes, nails, spikes and other forged items.
When Belknap celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1940, it had grown to a complex of 37 buildings, covering 37 acres of floor space under one roof. It had underground passageways and covered bridges. Belknap Hardware and Manufacturing was among the nation's largest wholesale enterprises with nationally recognized quality brands. Belnap went out of business in 1986.
Belnap didn't manufacture their own axes, they were outsourced to Kelly Axe & Tool Co. Belnap Bluegrass axes and other items were very popular and recognized as high quality tools.
This shirt celebrates the artwork of Benlap Bluegrass for their iconic clover logo. You get a high quality, reproduction of the sticker and etching that came on many of their tools and axes. The back of the shirt has the same logo in a smaller size in the upper middle.
