HISTORY

In 1874 the W.C. KELLY company was formed and went on to become the greatest maker of iconic axes in the world.

In 1921 the Kelly Axe & Tool Co. purchased all the holdings and equipment, along with the rights to all the brands and labels, owned by the American Axe & Tool Co.

In 1930 the Kelly Axe & Tool Co. was purchased by the American Fork & Hoe Co. Axe production was continued under the new name of the Kelly Axe & Tool Works.

Eventually by 1949, American Fork & Hoe became known as True Temper. In 1987 the Kelly name was sold to Barco Industries where it remains today.

ABOUT THE AXE

Words cannot describe how beautiful and special this axe really is.  This Kelly Works double bit with REAL 18K GOLD letter fill and matching 18K gold flake stain handle, has a beauty that is very hard to capture in photos and can be better appreciated in person.  The haft is also finshed in a one of a kind, 18K gold stain.  The final coat to preserve and protect the gold is a light wipe of poly and Vintage Axe Oil and the head with a dab of Vintage Axe Wax.

This expertly restored, heirloom quality axe is absolutely one of a kind in the world!  It instantly turns heads and becomes the go-to conversation piece in your den, office or home. Included with the purchase of the axe is a frame quality writeup about it's history.
